When
someone is arrested by a member of the Los Angeles Police Department, they’ll
be handcuffed, read their Miranda Rights, placed into the squad car and
transported to the Van Nuys Jail to be booked and processed.
The next step in the arrest procedure is the intake process. The defendant will be interviewed by a jailer to find out basic personal and medical information, such as their name, date of birth and address.
From
there, the defendant will need to be photographed, fingerprinted and undergo a
national background check and warrant screen. The jail will not allow anyone to
post bail bonds until this is done.
Once the
person has passed the warrant screen, they are eligible to post bail bonds. The
amount of the Los Angeles Bail Bond will
depend on the county they were arrested in and the charges they face.
